The Culinary Adventure of Lucifer and Mocchi Morningstar

A badly edited picture of Lucifer and Mocchi sleeping together, one month after Mocchi came into the house.

Hi all, this would be the debut post for this blog! I am excited to introduce you to two of my sassy cats: Lucifer and Mocchi Morningstar. Lucifer is a 16-month-old female domestic cat. Mocchi is an 8-month-old female Persian cat. My boyfriend and I gave a nickname to both: Lucy for Lucifer and Mochan for Mocchi. I would like to assume that they know their names already!

Lucy used to like hanging out on top of the wardrobe before Mocchi pushed her out from her favorite spot.

We adopted Lucifer when she was three-month-old. Her previous owner wanted to spay her cat but, due to an "accident" and the free-roaming lifestyle, the cat ended up having a litter of kitten. Lucy is the only female in the kitten litter, and we decided to adopt her because we do not want to struggle with a male cat's in-heat moments. Lucy is quite picky with what she eats although she is quite open to eat the foods we offer when she knows there are no other options available. The easiest way for us to know if Lucy does not like her food is when she spends more than one day to eat a bowl of the dry food or left in the middle of eating her portion of wet food. Lucy shows her favoritism to foods quite obviously! It makes it easier for us to understand what she likes and does not like.

Mocchi really likes to take a short nap when someone scratches her favorite spot like her head or chin, even if it means she is sleeping on the toilet floor.

Meanwhile, we adopted Mocchi when she was only two-month-old. She shared a familiar story with Lucy, although Mocchi only has two other siblings. Mocchi used to be tiny, back then, we used to be able to fit her in our palm but, she has rapidly grown after a few months. Now, we struggle to lift her because she is quite big and heavy. Mocchi does not obviously show her favoritism to the foods we serve. However, she would give this "pooping" dig movement with her paws whenever she finished eating. Up until now, we only served Mocchi with 4 kinds of dry foods and we are still experiencing because Mocchi keeps showing us the same movements so we decide to try to find suitable food later for her after the pandemic (because of money! haha). Mocchi is a curious cat, unlike Lucy. Mocchi likes to go for chickens (even those from fast-food brands), eggs, and even fishes. Lucy, on the other hand, is quite strict with her preference and straights out ignoring eggs and chickens (especially if they're coming from the fast-food brands).

One of the main struggles that I have while raising Lucy and Mocchi is the lack of cat food and other cat-related reviews from Indonesian (who live in Indonesia) owners. Thus, I have decided to write this blog and share our experience with particular products (especially cat foods!). I will definitely write in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, so I hope it will not make you less motivated to continue reading this blog!
